Season will run from early April to the 1st Week of June.
Games are set to be scheduled from Monday through Thursday during the week, so players that do participate in other programs will have Friday's and two other days of rest from games throughout the week. Practices are called at the Team Manager's discretion.
Our goal is to get all teams at least 12 - 14 games in the Local League season.
Inter-League play (playing teams from other Little Leagues) requires a waiver and may only be used if a limited number of teams are in our local league. This is monitored and waivered by LL International.
The last recorded charter with Little League International was 1979 on FE Warren Air Force Base.
Cheyenne Little League is an Official Charter from Little League International. Our Local League is conducted in accordance with all rules set forth by the Little League Headquarters in Williamsport, PA.
Players in the Majors Division have to opportunity to make the Cheyenne Little League All Stars at the end of the season. The progression of play up to the Little League World Series is below:
- Local League All Stars: Team Manager winning the local league is the coach of the All Stars
- Wyoming District 2 Competition: Cheyenne Little League All Stars will compete at the Wyoming District 2 Tournament (Early-Mid July)
- Wyoming State Tournament: Winners from Districts progress to the State Tournament (Mid-Late July)
- West Regional Tournament: Winners from State Tournaments advance to Regional Tournaments (Mid August)
West Region includes: Alaska, Arizona, California (Northern/Southern), Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming
- Little League World Series: Williamsport, PA all Regional Tournament winners travel to Williamsport to play in the LLWS. (Late August)
Local Leagues may charter Little League Baseball or Softball from ages 4 to 18 years of age.
Cheyenne Little League is chartered for ages 7 to 12 years of age for Baseball only. Parents looking to place their kids in a Tee Ball program are encouraged to Register with the City of Cheyenne [link].
What are uniform requirements? Hat, Shirt, Pants, Cleats...
Players receive a hat and shirt for all games. Pants with calf high socks are
recommended along with athletic supporters.
Cleats must be plastic for all age groups for Minors ages 7-10 cleats are not required.
Majors teams may receive different hats than the minors teams.
Official Little League patches will be provided during the season. Official patches must be attached to the jersey before the playoffs start.
The 2016 season registration fee is $75.

Little League is open to players at any level of play.
We know there are several travelling programs in Cheyenne. The current Board of Directors is familiar with the schedule and routine commonly associated with travelling programs. The intent of a Local League is for players to participate regardless of skill level here in Cheyenne. Family & Friends can attend games without the burden of travel or missing work. The "All Stars" are chosen to represent Cheyenne in State, Regional or National tournaments from the Majors divsion only at the end of the season.
Little League uses a strict set of standards for providing fair & balanced team selection.
In a league's first year there are optional draft methods for the teams, usually this applies to Majors teams however, we would like to begin implementing drafting for the Minors so players are accustomed to the practice when they reach the Majors age groups. Drafing will be a requirement at the Majors each year no exceptions.
Remember this is about the youth playing the game not who is coaching them. Our singular focus is to develop the youth in our community through the sport.
Cheyenne Little League is chartered as an Official Local Little League.
The Official Charter is the only way for teams from our community to get an opportunity to particpate in District, State, Regional or National Little League Tournaments. The Little League World Series is now covered by National and International television, the only way Cheyenne players can particpate is through the charter process. We have to have an official charter for our children to attempt to get to the State, Regional or National Tournaments.
Cheyenne Little League is a new charter for Cheyenne, Wyoming and is not associated with any other group in Cheyenne.
Little League provides operating rules and guidelines each year. Bats must have the stamp BPF 1.15 clearly identified on the handle and the maximum bat diameter is 2 1/4". More information is available on LL National's website.
Little League through our generous sponsors will provide; helmets, some bats, baseballs, some gloves & catchers gear. If your child has their own equipment please label it, sharing is not required but appreciated.
